The new system will support upgraded P25 radios and Symphony command centre dispatch consoles, which are expected to enable multiple mission-critical user groups – such as law enforcement, public safety, utilities and public works – to communicate in a more seamless way via voice and data. The new network will have double the capacity of the previous one and offer greater range, while also streamlining UCA’s access to FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network.
UCA is an independent state agency that manages emergency 911 and interagency communications at the state, regional, local and tribal levels across Utah. L3Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications is a supplier of communications systems and equipment for public safety, federal, utility, commercial and transportation markets, which currently supports more than 500 systems around the world.
