Motorola Solutions has unveiled its new ST7500 Compact TETRA Radio at its booth (B50) at the Critical Communications MENA event, which is currently (23-25 September) taking place at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.

The company states that the ST7500, which weighs less than 200 grams, combines a compact and rugged form factor with a small screen that can be used in bright sunlight, an easy-to-use keypad that can be operated while wearing gloves as well as a simple user interface and loud and clear audio. It also offers up to 22 hours of battery life,

It has an integrated internal and external hybrid antenna system, 1.8W transmission power, an open speaker port, automatic gain control and multi-band compression. Tactile buttons are available for push-to-talk, volume call and emergency calls, as well as a talkgroup rocker switch, with what the company describes as well defined, fully protected keys with haptic feedback. The emergency call button and talkgroup rocker switch are located on top of the radio along with a coverage indicator.

The ST7500 is certified to withstand dust, rain, shock and drops, with IP65, IP67 and MIL-STD 810 D/E/F/G ratings. It is equipped with a MAC13 GCAI connector and integrated Bluetooth® 4.1 wireless technology facilitating the use of a wide range of wireless accessories including audio headsets, push-to-talk buttons and smart devices.
