The 21.4km line, which is currently under construction, will use Teltronic’s Nebula TETRA infrastructure, a CeCoCo control centre, 18 RTP-603 on-board units, 18 SRG3900 mobile radios and 100 STP9000 hand-portables. It will provide communications between all staff on Line 3, including drivers, maintenance and security staff, inspectors and the control centre. Alstom develops and markets systems, equipment and services for the railway sector and was awarded a contract by the Secretariat of Communications and Transport of Mexico to supply a full system for Line 3 of Guadalajara metro.

Alstom’s share in the contract is worth around €240 million (£186.6 million). The line is 20 km long and will run through Zapopan, Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque municipalities in the State of Jalisco. It will provide transportation to 233,000 passengers on a daily basis.

“This prestigious win builds on our strong working relationship with Alstom, proven over many previous projects,” said Felipe Sanjuan Pasamar, business development director for Teltronic.

“Our cutting-edge solution leverages the power of TETRA technology to overcome a number of technical challenges – due to a combination of underground and elevated running – addressing the daily operational requirements of Guadalajara Metro and making a vital contribution to the safe transportation of millions of passengers."
