Airbus wins Chinese contract

Airbus has been awarded a three-year maintenance contract to provide ‘comprehensive services’ to the Beijing government public safety shared network.

The company’s agreement with network operator Justtop includes on-site presence when required, maintenance services and a 24-hour emergency support. Airbus will also install a help desk for the shared network.

Speaking of the contract, Airbus’ head of Middle East and Asia-Pacific for secure land communication Selim Bouri said: “Our extensive service includes frequency planning and hardware part replacement. Reliability and experience is at the heart of this project.”

The shared network is used by a variety of government authorities, including emergency response, armed police, firefighters, the ambulance service and utility companies.

According to Airbus, it has supplied nine switches in two switch centres, alongside more than 550 base stations. It is Asia’s largest Tetra network, with around 110,000 subscribers.
