The TETRA digital two-way radios plus accessories and supporting services will be used by the police, emergency services, as well as public and private fire departments in Brandenburg.
The multi-year frame contract covers the supply of approximately 2,600 TETRA digital radios including Motorola MTP6650 and MTP8000Ex series portables, Motorola Solutions ST7000 small handhelds as well as MTM800 ET mobile radios. Motorola Solutions will also supply the police and non-police public safety users in Brandenburg with a broad range of accessories.
With the new radio solutions, Motorola Solutions will update and expand the existing TETRA radio equipment, which has been used by public safety organisations in Brandenburg since their introduction in 2013. Motorola Solutions’ TETRA radio solutions were specially developed in accordance with the requirements of German security authorities and organisations, and the company claims that they will ensure secure and reliable voice and data communication for all police and non-police users.
The delivery to police and non-police forces in Brandenburg also includes Motorola Solutions’ Integrated Terminal Management (iTM) solution for the entire vehicle fleet with up to 50,000 deployed devices. iTM automates the TETRA radio programming process including fleet management and software upgrades, which, the company claims, will make the process of auditing radio assets and implementing software version control much more efficient. In addition, Motorola Solutions will provide its TETRA RF Automated Coverage and Evaluation Solution (TRACES). TRACES has been designed to track network coverage and performance to provide full visibility of the TETRA network.
“The renewed TETRA tender win in Brandenburg reinforces our position as a trusted market leader in providing mission-critical communication solutions to public safety organisations in Germany and worldwide,” said Mark Schmidl, vice president and general manager, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Motorola Solutions. “With customers in more than 100 countries, more than 3.5 million delivered TETRA radio terminals and more than 1,000 TETRA systems, which have been supplied by our TETRA Center of Excellence in Berlin, Germany, the tender win in Brandenburg is a further important milestone for us. Motorola Solutions will continue its investment in both TETRA and new mobile broadband-based smart public safety solutions to lead the way into a safe future for our customers.”
