Hytera has won a bid to provide 6,000 portable and mobile TETRA radios for the Military Police of Federal District (Polícia Militar do Distrito Federal, PMDF) in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, to facilitate PMDF's routine and special operations.
The rollout will include Hytera’s Z1p, a TETRA portable radio for special operations, and MT680 mobile radios installed in all the PMDF police cars. Hytera will supply the full scope of the bid through its Brazilian subsidiary, Hytera Brazil and will also provide services, training and installation support for the PMDF. According to Ricardo Bovo, president of Hytera Brazil, the main advantages in securing the bid were IP67 capability, integrated Bluetooth and 3W RF transmit power in the Z1p radio.
“For the mobiles, the embedded speaker, small dimension, outstanding RF performance, superior audio quality and remote mount were remarkable advantages, compared with other bidders,” said Bovo.
“Now police officers of the PMDF will be empowered with the leading edge technology from Hytera and will be able to provide better services for the people in Brasilia,” said sources with the PMDF.
