At the BAPCO Annual Exhibition and Conference, Telford 21-22 March, Leonardo unveiled CERYX, a smartphone app that can turn a standard iOS or Android device into a secure communications platform for voice, messaging and video, protecting against eavesdropping or intercept.
CERYX allows voice, video and photo messaging and even conference calling over applications that use voice-over IP (VOIP) cloud connections.
Unlike consumer chat applications, CERYX uses the MIKEY-SAKKE algorithm from the UK Government’s signal intelligence agency, GCHQ giving each user organisation a comprehensive ability to manage individual and group access to the service using in-house tools or via the cloud.
Leonardo provides cybersecurity for more than 52 NATO sites and headquarters in 29 countries in its role as NATO’s Cyber Defence Mission Partner.
