SEE TELECOM and SYSOCO, both communications providers, have signed contracts as part of a consortium with SATELEC to replace the 25-year-old VHF analogue radio system used by BPNL - the operator of Lyon's northern ring road - with TETRA technology.
Â
SEE Telecom and SYSOCO will be responsible for the complete management of the TETRA network that will cover two 6km tunnels and provide indoor coverage in toll roads, interconnection tunnels and technical rooms and buildings. The work will take place between 15 July and 15 August of this year. The contracts were signed on 31 March, 2016, in Lyon by David Caestecker, works manager at SATELEC; Christophe Lebrun, CEO of See Telecom; and Pierre De Quillacq, CEO of Sysoco.
Â
The contract includes the provision of coverage for TETRA, the French public safety Tetrapol network (INPT) and 16 FM channels for emergency messages insertion via a new radiating cable system from KABELWERK EUPEN AG. The new system will solve the problem of dead-zones and will provide full TETRA, UHF and FM coverage within the area covered by BPNL's infrastructure.
