According to a statement, the aim of the project is to replace “legacy infrastructure and radios with a more reliable, robust, and scalable solution based on an open standard technology.” PowerTrunk will provide 31 base station sites and 5,000 devices, as well as dispatch consoles based on its NG CeCoCo solution.
Speaking of the roll-out, PowerTrunk CEO, Jose Martin, said: “After having been awarded so many TETRA contracts by transit agencies, utilities, and other critical infrastructure organisations, we are delighted to be supporting Williams Communications on this contract. [It is] our first TETRA system for public safety in North America.”
PowerTrunk senior vice president of sales, Ignacio Callen, said: “It was deemed by WCS that a PowerTrunk TETRA solution offered the highest value, reliable, and scalable public safety grade radio system for the Facility Radio Network project.”
