For the collaboration, Motorola will deliver a scalable and network-integrated 3rd Generation Partnership Protocol mission-critical solution to provide secure connectivity over Specialized by STC’s long-term evolution (LTE) network.
The new joint service offers enhanced multimedia capabilities including push-to-video and text, file transfer, location and geo-fencing services across Specialized’s network across the Kingdom. Motorola said the solution also allowed for Specialized to further expand the service into new mission-critical solutions and applications in the future.
Hesham Almomen, chief technology officer at Specialized by STC, said: “Our investment will immediately enhance communication for our customers, whilst future-proofing the network for new services in coming years.
“As the leading telecommunications operator in Saudi Arabia, our network must be secure, reliable and optimized for safety to support our wide range of customers spanning government agencies, public safety and enterprise organizations.”
Specialized by STC is the national licensed secure mobile communications operator for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and provides communications solutions for “emergency and sensitive government services” including Hajj, military and industrial sectors.

The deal sees Specialized become the latest national provider to collaborate with Motorola on mission-critical PTT joining Swedish operator Telia, Dutch telecoms provider KPN and French operator SFR.
