According to a statement, the collaboration is aimed at “accelerating the growth and development of standardised and harmonised communication technologies, with a goal [of ensuring safety and security for all critical communications users, and the citizens and societies they help to protect.”
Work will focus on several key areas, including advocacy around policy, joint flagship events, and knowledge sharing via “regular meetings, conferences and workshops.” The organisations will also undertake joint research, “developing comprehensive research papers to explore the latest advancements in critical communication technologies and standards.”
The MoU was signed by BIF director, brig. Anil Tandan and TCCA CEO, Kevin Graham.
Broadband India Forum president, TV Ramachandran, said: “BIF, with its special focus on ‘ consumer first,’ recognises the importance of critical communications in our day -to-day lives. [This is] through aspects involving public safety, disaster recovery/management, and mission critical applications/services across industries and the country as a whole.
“Through this strategic partnership with TCCA , BIF aims to ensure that, while we take giant strides towards becoming a developed nation, we also work towards ensuring a safe and secured society through enhanced awareness, and focus on critical assured communications .”
TCCA’s Kevin Graham said- “We are delighted to partner with BIF to drive innovation and collaboration in critical communications. By combining our expertise and resources, we can address the evolving needs of the sector and ensure the wider seamless operation of standardised critical services and applications.”
