Discussing the background for the survey in question, a spokesperson for the organisation said: “Many organisations are planning to deploy broadband technologies - 4G and 5G - to deliver mission critical communications. These will greatly enhance the safety and operational efficiency of first responders and mobile workers.”
The spokesperson continued: “TCCA has established a task force to focus on mission critical use HPUE [high power user equipment] devices. The task force has created this survey to better understand the use cases and requirements for mission critical HPUE devices.”
The survey is targeted at a variety of stakeholders, including end users, ICT managers, critical communications network operators, equipment manufacturers and industry analysts.
According to TCCA, the results will be used to give deployment advice to users and operators, as well as identifying “issues that may prevent deployment.” They will also “provide guidance to manufacturers to help create an ecosystem of HPUE devices that meet mission critical requirements.”
