The project is phase two of a control room technology modernisation and standardisation (Program MVL). As part of this work, NRW’s 50 police control centres (approximately 400 operator working positions) will be hosted in a virtual cloud-based solution available in five networked technical centres across the region. 3020 LifeX will be used to provide efficient emergency call handling and operation on the public safety digital radio network, as well as interconnection between the two services.
The first phase of work on the project was performed by Thales Deutschland GmbH. The NRW police’s decision to use Frequentis was influenced by the cooperation the two companies have displayed over the last two years, along with Frequentis’s previous work on the “digital radio concentrator” project.
The NRW police force is the largest in Germany, covering 50 police authorities which ensure the protection and security of a population of approximately 18 million.
