Simoco Group has appointed Brett McInnes as CEO of Simoco Australasia.
McInnes, who has more than 20 years' experience working at CEO and director level, joins Simoco Australasia from unified communications (UC) distributors Samsung Communications and CommsPlus Distribution, where he also held the position of CEO.
Based at the company’s Melbourne headquarters, he will be responsible for the next phase of business growth and will oversee all management, sales and marketing activity, as well as national and multinational product management and development.
Commenting on the Simoco’s future in the TETRA market, McInnes said: “In the arena of critical communications, TETRA has been a core standard for many years. As such, the technology continues to remain an important part of our offering in the region when it comes to delivering wider solutions to our customers.”
McInnes has also worked as a director of the communications products division at Panasonic Australia, and as a senior consultant in the Asia Pacific region for management consultancy Ovum. He has also served as a national judging panellist and a category award presenter for the Telstra Business Awards, as well as a guest speaker at various industry events including the Office of the GCIO (Hong Kong Government) at their Wireless and Mobile Computing Symposium.
“It is an exciting time in the radio and telecoms industries and Simoco Group, with its record of delivering innovative communication technology, is ideally placed to capitalise on this in the Australasia region,” commented McInnes on his appointment. “The business will continue to be at the forefront of delivering robust and reliable solutions to customers over the coming years, through exciting technology, such as Simoco Pulse, our next generation of Xd DMR solutions and our existing range of P25 systems.”
Mike Norfield, Group CEO of Simoco, said: “Brett has excellent experience in the technology and communications industries and brings leadership and an international network of contacts at the highest level.
“This will enable Simoco Australasia to continue delivering operational services while helping customers to discover the new mobile radio technologies we are currently launching and manage transitions from analogue to digital systems.”
